I qualified as a solicitor in 1994 and have specialised in family law cases since that time.

I set up Sharratts in 2005 to provide legal help to families across the West Midlands and I have been able to develop a niche family law practice with the help of my talented and committed team.

Over the years I have represented parents, grandparents, relatives, foster carers and adopters in a variety of legal matters.

I spend a large proportion of my time now representing children and vulnerable adults in the family law arena. I have been on the law society’s specialist child care panel since 1999 and I act as the voice for the child or the vulnerable in public and private law proceedings.

I also continue to represent the family members or carers of children in all aspects to include child arrangement orders; specific issue order; prohibited steps orders; care/supervision orders; emergency protections orders; secure accommodation applications; declarations of parentage; parental orders; adoption; special guardianship orders and many more.

Child abduction does not happen often thankfully but when it does we have assisted families to have the child/ren returned and obtained protective orders to prevent further removal.

Alongside the complex case involving children I also provide legal advice to separating families whether this is divorce or disputed property matters. The arrangements for the children are often central to any separation.

My experience over the years has been varied and I have been fortunate enough to be involved in legal matters that have been complex and challenging but I never forget that the case is about families and their break down or their trauma. Each and every case shapes you and I feel continually privileged that families place their trust in me to help them through their difficult times. Kindness and compassion are essential qualities in this field and that is central to all that we do here.
